He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanson Bourg and Eva Hebert Bourg, son, Reginald James Bourg, sister, Ismay Bourg Lapeyrouse and husband Dewey, brother in law, Evans "Tibby" Thibodeaux. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was well known for his counter top and flooring work he did for over fifty years. He was a man of many stories and his grandchildren always looked up to him.
