Mavis Blanchard Lirette, 78, a native and resident of Bourg, died at 6:23 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Lirette and wife, Jerolyn, of Houma and Lawrence "Renny" Lirette and wife, Walterine, of Montegut; two daughters, Norma L. Pellegrin and husband, T-Mark, of Houma and Mona L. Christensen and husband, Clayton, of Kingman, Ariz.; four sisters, Telcis Cantrelle and husband, Emile, Elcis Quatrievignt, Bertha Trahan and husband, Wayne, and Mary Ann Dupre and husband, Hartley; one brother-in-law, Delvin Lirette Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Rose Lirette and Blanche Authement; 11 grandchildren, Tommy "P-Nut" Pellegrin and wife, Sonia, of Houma, Monica P. and husband, Richard Kingsmill, of New Orleans, Troy Pellegrin and wife, Rebecca, of Bayou Blue, Roxanne P. and husband, Davis Arceneaux, of Bourg, Michael and wife, Kellie L. Pellegrin, of Bourg, Mark Lirette Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Houma, Jeremy Lirette and wife, Chantelle, of Houma, Cody Lirette and wife, Amie, of Montegut, Dustin Lirette of Montegut and Lauren and Aaron Christensen of Kingman; and 14 great-grandchildren, Blake Pellegrin, Marissa and Holly Rush, Troy Jr. and Haley Pellegrin, Davis Jr., Jacob and Rylie Arceneaux, Conner Pellegrin, Ruth, Leah and Hunter Lirette, and Alaina and Allie Lirette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Neg" Lirette; her parents, Burton Blanchard and Marie Vito Blanchard; one brother, Murphy Blanchard; one sister-in-law, Flossie White; and one brother-in-law, Russell Lirette Sr.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
