Della Marie Dantin Margiotta, 93, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:01 PM. She was a native of Raceland and resident of New Orleans and Metairie for 71 years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with burial following at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery.
She is survived by her
brother, Bobbie Dantin, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Aloysius Gonzaga Margiotta,
parents, Wilfred Dantin and Celame Matherne Dantin,
brothers, Jules Dantin, Bruce Dantin,
sisters, Mabel Bourgeois, Vivian Adams, Clothilde Maureaux, Jeannette Daigle, Juliette Chaisson, Bernice Dantin.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral .
She retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. She was very active in the 250th Battalion Reunion Group as well as the VFW Ladies Auxilliary Post #6640, Orleans Salon 8&40 Ladies Auxilliary, Shieks of Arabi Post #15 Ladies Auxilliary and American Legion Auxilliary Post #175 Ladies Unit.
