Walter John Prejean, 89, a native of Ashland and resident of Houma, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008.
Graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile Pierron Prejean of Houma; three sons, Jon E. Prejean and wife, Sandi, Jace A. Prejean and wife, Carolyn, and Walt R. Prejean and wife, Nancy, of Houma; one daughter, Pam Guidry and husband, Dr. Bruce Guidry, of Houma; one sister, Anita M. Schexnayder of Houma; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Prejean and Anita Domangue Prejean; one granddaughter, Amanda Catherine Guidry; two brothers, Abel P. Prejean and Harvey Prejean; and one sister, Hilda Gissing.
He was a retired law enforcement officer with Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Houma Police Department and Louisiana State Trooper.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
