Douglas "Turkey" Thomas LeCompte, 71, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 12:45 AM at home surrounded by his family.
He was a native of Orange, TX and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home and Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 8:00 AM until Service time at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
He is survived by his,
Wife of 49 years, Myrna Vice LeCompte,
Children, Gary LeCompte, Francine Jeblonski, and Stacy LeCompte,
3 Grandchildren, Brad LeCompte, Sarah Jeblonski, and Sadie Jeblonski.
He was preceded in death by his,
Parents, Milton LeCompte and Edith Labat LeCompte, and
brother, Gil Richard LeCompte
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
He was a Supervisor of Materials and Tools at the time he retired from Shell Oil Company where he was employed for more than thirty years.
Turkey enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and camping. He loved LSU and Saints football. He loved spending time with his family and taking care of his children.
