Norman Vincent Leonard , 89, a native of Bayou Black and resident of Houma, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Melancon Leonard of Houma; two sons, Ellis V. Leonard and wife, Betty, and Dale Leonard and wife, Connie, of Houma; one daughter, Rochelle Rhodes of Houma; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis S. Leonard and Mary Trahan Leonard; one son-in-law, Charles "Buddy" Rhodes; two brothers, Easton Leonard and Harry Leonard; and three sisters, Lorraine Pellegrin, Rosella Malone and Eva Bennett.
He was a retired truck driver for 42 years with Texaco and a member of the American Legion and VFW.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
