Nan LeBlanc Fakier, 77, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:32 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two sons, Michael C. Fakier and wife, Ellen, and Kurt N. Fakier and wife, Cindy, of Houma; two brothers, Ned LeBlanc of New Orleans and Dan LeBlanc of Houma; two sisters, Erin Landry of Jackson, Miss., and Yves Rome of Houma; and three grandchildren, Kacey F. DeRoche, Kayla A. Fakier and Lauren M. Fakier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Fakier; her parents, Abel LeBlanc Sr. and Isabelle Guidry LeBlanc; one brother, Abel LeBlanc Jr.; and two sisters, Meryl Pellegrin and Yvonne Bethancourt.
She was a retired schoolteacher with 30 years of service with Terrebonne Parish School Board and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Friends of the Library, St. Francis de Sales, Vandebilt Catholic High School or Bayou Regions Hospice.
She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
