Rhea Picou Voisin, 72, a native of Little Caillou and resident of Dulac, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Joseph Voisin III and wife, Nicole White Voisin, of Dulac; three daughters, Darlene Voisin Lovell and husband, Ray Lovell, of Bayou Blue, Belinda Voisin Authement and husband, Leroy Authement Jr., of Chauvin and Nancy Voisin Rodrigue and husband, Olden Rodrigue Sr., of Houma; one brother, Felton Picou of Federal Way, Wash.; two sisters, Miriam Brossette of New Orleans and Rona Rodrigue of Houma; one halfsister, Ruby LeBoeuf of Montegut; six grandchildren, Carey Lovell and husband, Stevie Bergeron, of Houma, James Lovell and wife, Erica Himel Lovell, of Houma, Jamie Authement and wife, Kristy Falgout Authement, of Denham Springs, Stacey Authement Boquet and husband, Philip Boquet, of Houma, Olden Rodrigue Jr. and wife, Shannon Sevin Rodrigue, of Bourg and Cindy Rodrigue Broussard and husband, Winston Broussard, of Houma; three step-grandchildren, Sadie Billiot and fiance, Lee Naquin, of Houma, Derek Billiot and Rodney "R.J." Parfait of Dulac; 12 great-grandchildren, Scotty, Mckenna and Cameron Bergeron, Nathanial Lovell, Madison and Sebastian Authement, Julius and Cullen Boquet, Tessa and Bryce Rodrigue, Destini and Jaedyn Broussard; and one step-great-grandchild, Liam Naquin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Joseph "T-Boy" Voisin Jr.; her parents, Elem Joseph Picou and Pearl Gray Picou; five brothers, Roland, Wilber, Carbert, Noel and Ray Picou; two sisters, Helen Belanger and Bonnie Bell Fitch; one half-brother, Houston Picou; and four half-sisters, Gertrude Mason, Emily Savoie, Pearl Pitre and Esther LeBoeuf.
She worked for Hi-Seas of Dulac for almost 23 years where she became the ladies’ supervisor. She was loved by all that knew her and will be missed more than words can express. A gentler, kinder, more compassionate and loving person is hard to find. Her faith carried her through as she carried her cross. May she sing with the nine choirs of angels and rest in peace in the loving arms of our Father in Heaven.
She was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
