Cindy Lena Picou, 40, a native and resident of Houma, entered into eternal joy after a long and hard fight battle with cancer at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her parents, Ronald Joseph Picou and Mary Linda Callahan Picou of Houma; one son, Chad Michael Rhodes of Houma; two brothers, Gerard Anthony "Bud" Picou of Houma and Kellen Jude Picou of New Orleans; and two sisters, Mindy Picou Scott and husband, Harvey Ray Scott, and Wendy Lua Picou of Houma.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marsan Picou and Emily Picou and Michael Callahan; and her grandmother and step-grandfather, Anna Hornsby and Nolton Hornsby.
She was a former deputy marshal with the city Marshal’s Office for eight years and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
She was a Devotee to the Precious Blood. She was a huge Saints and LSU fan and loved to shoot pool and play cards, but mostly she loved her family and friends and she will be missed dearly by us all.
