Beulah Martin Griffin, 89, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 9:01 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Billy Griffin and wife, Sandra, Richard Griffin and wife, Sharon, of Pointe-aux-Chenes and Rudy Griffin and wife, Tina, of Chauvin; three daughters, Thelma G. Babin and husband, Hayes, of Houma, Velma G. Boland and husband, Michael, of Flowermound, Texas, and Trudy G. Nielsen and husband, Edwin, of Thibodaux; two brothers, Thaddeus Martin of Houma and Percy Martin of Montegut; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Griffin; her parents, Eddie Martin and Julia Lapeyrouse Martin; four brothers, Harris, Alvin, Julius and Lucius Martin; and two sisters, Sylvia M. Authement and Pearl M. Boudreaux.
She was retired from Chauvin Brothers Packing Co. and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Her passion for music allowed her to sing in the St. Joseph Choir only weeks before her death. She was known as the "mother of twins," having two sets of her own and three sets of grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, St. Joseph Choir, Ward 7, VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
