Eugene "Gene" Thomas Suire, 74, a native of Erath and resident of Houma, died at 8:06 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Robichaux Suire of Houma; two daughters, Susan Touchet and husband, Douglas, of Erath and Kecia Ruby and husband, Billy, of Sikeston, Mo.; one son, Thomas Jude Suire of Pierre Part; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Clayton, Leigha Clayton, Francesca Touchet, Tatum Ruby, Emily Suire, Corbin Suire and Beau Suire; his loving dog, Pippi, and his horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theophile Suire and Naomie Vice Suire; three brothers, infant baby brother, Edward Suire and Dr. Leroy Suire; and his loving dog, Muffin.
He was a retired petroleum engineer with Halliburton and a member of Louisiana Breeder Association.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
