Montgomery Lee Preston

Montgomery "Monte" Lee Preston, 57, a native of Warrensburg, Mo., and resident of Houma, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Sarah "Sallie" Marie LaPeze Preston of Houma; two daughters, Bridget Kelly Preston and companion, Christian Porche, of Houma and Brittany-Kay Preston Martinez and husband, Abraham Miguel Martinez, of Sugarland, Texas; his grandmother, Mildred S. Bancroft of Chilhowee, Mo.; four brothers, Kevin Lee Preston of Tomball, Texas, Robin Lee Preston of Sugarland, Gregory Mitchell Preston of Virginia Beach, Va., and Stacy Shane Preston of Houma; one sister, Jayme Gayle Taylor of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren, Whitney Marie Chauvin, Logan Roger Canull, Sarah Jo Beth Canull, Abigail Marie Martinez and Andres Miguel Martinez; and his beloved pet, Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Preston and Mary L. Bancroft Preston; one grandchild, Bethany Vale Chauvin; and his grandparents, John Bancroft, Oscar Lee and Nellie Pearl Preston. He was owner/operator of Preston Trucking Co. and a U.S. Army veteran.
