Carl Andrew Marcel, 76, a native of New Orleans and former resident of Houma, LA and current resident of Bayou Vista, LA, passed away November 13, 2012 at 08:00pm from A.M.G. Specialty Hospital while surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 1:30pm with burial in the church cemetery.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Scarlette Marie' Marcel and companion John Zant and his two children of Lafayette LA, Carl Marcels fiance' Elma Pierce and her two daughters Dawn P. Townsend and Danette P. LeMaire, his sisters Sylvia Matherne and late husband Charles, Barbara Sullivan and late husband David, and Lydia Colvin, one brother Wayne P. Marcel and wife Rowena and one brother in law Alvin Robichaux Sr. and many neices and nephews, grandneices and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Marcel Sr and Genevieve Theresa Berthelot Marcel, two brothers Lee Marcel Jr, and Ronald Marcel and wife Joyce, two sisters Marilyn Marcel Falgout and husband Gerald, and Brenda Marcel Robichaux.
He was a parishioner of St Bernadette of Bayou Vista.
Carl owned the Yellow Cab Company then worked construction, and in the oil field. Carl served in the Army Reserve for 2 years and the Marine Corp for 4 years.
He was a Lifetime Member of the Marine Corps League. He loved doing Toys for Tots. Played Santa Claus and was a Knight of Columbus member.
