Irene Belanger Bourg

Irene Belanger Bourg, 93, a native of Grand Caillou and resident of Montegut, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Montegut Fire Station and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Anthony Bourg and wife, Maudry, of Montegut, and Norton J. Bourg Jr. and wife, Karen, of Houma; three daughters, Geraldine Jerliniski and husband, Vincent, of Chalfont, Penn., Delora Simoneaux of Montegut and Bessie Ledet and husband, Albert, of Houma; one brother, Luke Belanger Sr. and wife, Pearl, of Golden Meadow; 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norton J. Bourg Sr.; her parents, Arnold Joseph Belanger and Cecile Boudreaux Belanger; one son-in-law, Darby Simoneaux; two grandchildren, Irene Ledet and Jerry Anthony Bourg Jr.; one brother, Aaron Belanger; and one sister, Aramay Belanger. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Ladies Altar Society.
