Sara Daspit Lapeyrouse, 93, a native of Bayou Black and resident of Houma, died at 1:37 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by one sister, Rita Duplantis of Bayou Black; and numerous relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Lapeyrouse; her parents, Joseph and Alida Leonard Daspit; two brothers, Joseph C. Daspit and John H. Daspit; and two sisters, Etta Tastet and Mildred Metternich.
She was a retired schoolteacher for 42 years and a member of the retired Teachers Association and Ladies Altar Society of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
