Candice Dawn Matherne

Candice Dawn Matherne, 27, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with internment in Terrebonne Memorial Park. She is survived by her parents, Cindy Matherne Vanderkamp and Chris Vanderkamp of Houma and Lance Matherne of Gulf Shores, Ala.; one daughter, Katelyn Michelle of Houma; two brothers, Christopher Lee Matherne and Cade Michael Vanderkamp of Houma; her grandmothers, Betty Matherne of Houma, Diane Vanderkamp of Houma and Veila Matherne of Houma; and her boyfriend, Ryan Devney. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Leroy Matherne, James Vanderkamp and Eustace Matherne. She was a customer-service manager at Old Navy and a member of Living Word Church.
