Lottie Stringer Gaston, 88, a native of Chauvin and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Winston C. Gaston and wife, Diane, of Mathews; three daughters, Rosalie Coleman and husband, Wayne, of Franklin, Brenda Guidry and husband, Emile, of Mathews and Patricia J. Gaston of Franklin; three brothers, Hubert "Snow" Stringer Jr. of Houma, Gervais Stringer of Winterhaven, Fla., and Steven Stringer of Bourg; two sisters, Kate Price of Bourg and Louella Rogers of Houma; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Leo Gaston; her parents, Hubert Stringer Sr. and Ernestine Babin Stringer; two brothers, Warren Stringer and Willard "Pete" Stringer; and one sister, Gloria Stringer.
She was a homemaker and a member of Golden Meadow Ladies Altar Society and Church Quilting Group.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow.
