Eva Evalina Verdin Dean, 70, a native of Houma and resident of Dulac, died at 12:17 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007.
Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, John Dean Sr. of Dulac; four daughters, Evalina Pellegrin and husband, Ricky, of Covington, Earline "Kookie" Collins and husband, T-Bruce, Arlene "Teet" LeBoeuf and husband, Rodney Sr., and Tara D. Fitch and husband, Zac, of Houma; one brother, Joseph Vernis "BaZoo" Verdin of Dulac; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Verdin Sr. and Alice Verrett Verdin; one son, John Norris Dean Jr.; seven brothers, Joseph H. "Pete" Verdin, Anthony R. "Goin" Verdin, Paul Curtis "Putt" Verdin, Paul Jessie "Jess" Verdin, Freddie Verdin, Albert "Toot Say" Verdin and John Norris "Lip-T" Verdin; and four sisters, Mildred "Taun" Verdin, Mary E. "GeGes" Dean, Rose Marie "Vic" Lodrigue and Elsie Mae Verrett.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
