Charles "Charlie" Allen Badeaux

Charles "Charlie" Allen Badeaux, 79, a native of Gibson and resident of Houma, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time today at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Guedry Badeaux of Houma; four daughters, Olga B. Thibodeaux and husband, Glenn, of Houma, Susie B. Chitty and husband, Gary, of Spring, Texas, June Badeaux, and Sherrie B. Billiot and husband, Bo, of Houma; one sister, Josephine Dickson of Alton, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Badeaux Sr. and Josephine Bourgeois Badeaux; three brothers, Rudolph Badeaux Jr., Enos Badeaux and Alphonse Badeaux; and four sisters, Judith Whitney, Carlene Palmer, Rita Crochet and Joyce Butler. He was the retired owner of Badeaux Finance Company and a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. He was past member and president of Terrebonne Parish School Board from 1957-1970 and voted board president in last term and was also instrumental in organizing TARC. He was vice president in charge of loans at Bank of Terrebonne and was a member of the Krewe of Christopher. He coached Babe Ruth Little League Baseball for many years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to cook cajun dishes. He was a trumpet player for LSU marching band.
