Ellis "Red" Joseph Brunet Jr., 70, a native of Dularge and resident of Theriot, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Duplantis Brunet of Theriot; two daughters, Elaine Brunet of Lafayette, and Savanna Sasser and husband, Chris, of Pointe-aux-Chenes; two brothers, Kirvie Brunet and wife, Ethel, of Theriot, and Ruby Brunet and wife, Dolores, of Chauvin; three sisters, Thelma Duplantis and husband, Patrick, Earline McElroy and husband, John, of Houma and Emily Champagne and husband, Curtis, of Mission, Texas; and one grandchild, Isacc Sasser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Joseph Brunet Jr. and Emily Champagne Brunet; three brothers, Russell Brunet, LeRoy Brunet and Earl Brunet; and two sisters, Leona Brunet and Brunella Brunet.
He was a retired boat skipper and a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed visiting friends and family on his scooter.
