Junius "Man" Joseph Arceneaux Sr.

Junius "Man" Joseph Arceneaux Sr., 88, a native of Bayou Black and resident of Houma, died at 5:01 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Wilda Boudreaux Arceneaux of Houma; also survived by one son, Junius Arceneaux Jr. and wife, Rose, of Houma; two daughters, Elaine Naquin of Houma, and Vicki Schexnayder and husband, L.J., of Schriever; 10 grandchildren, Clay and Troy Naquin of Houma, Josh Arceneaux of Dulac, Louis Schexnayder Jr. of Thibodaux, Curt Schexnayder of Schriever, Schira Johnson of Boyce, Toni White, Denise Pete, Kristi Naquin of Houma and Brandy Theriot of Schriever; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay Joseph Arceneaux and Donna Hebert Arceneaux; three brothers, Jimmy Arceneaux, Howard Arceneaux and Clifford Arceneaux; and three sisters, Janette Daigle, Myrtle Green and Ruby Sampay. He was retired with the City of Houma and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star GO 92 Hq 104th Inf Div 20 Dec 44, Good Conduct Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
