Nelda Marie Duplantis Hebert, 76, a native and resident of Chauvin, died after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s at 1 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007.
Visitation will be from noon to funeral time Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Henry W. "Pinky" Hebert Jr. of Chauvin; two daughters, Cassandra H. Young of Chauvin and Tansey H. Leonard and husband, Robert, of Houma; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gervais Duplantis and Louise Eschete Duplantis; two sons, Lemuel Hebert and Averill Hebert; two daughters, Melissa Hebert Howard and Vanessa Hebert; and two brothers, Magnus Duplantis and Renee "Rannie" Duplantis.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion and VFW.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Caine Howard, Gil Howard, Callie Howard, Dustin Leonard, Ross Leonard, Coty Young and Ronnie Young.
