John "Sonny" Sullinger Dishman Jr., 67, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:39 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by one son, John S. "Johnny" Dishman III and wife, Mary, of Fort Worth, Texas; one stepson, Patrick Garman of Dallas; one stepdaughter, Pixie Garman LaFont of Tampa, Fla.; four brothers, James M. Dishman and wife, Catherine, Robert A. Dishman, David L. Dishman and wife, Dorothy, and Gerald P. Dishman and wife, Wanda, all of Houma; four sisters, Mary D. Giles and husband, Fred, of Huffman, Texas, Margaret D. Lapeyrouse and husband, Lanson Sr., Susan J. Dishman of Houma and Elaine M. Dishman of New Orleans; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Iris Ruggles Dishman; his parents, John Sullinger Dishman Sr. and Annie Laura Fabregas Dishman; two stepsons, Jeffrey Dale Annable and Eric Garman; one brother, Leon Philip Dishman; and two sisters, Elsie A. D. Falgout and Annie Laura D. Boudreaux.
He was retired in the oilfield business.
