Ernest Joseph Fanguy Sr., 91, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 9:13 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Deroche Fanguy of Houma; four sons, Ernest Fanguy Jr. of Dupont; William Fanguy, James Fanguy and Gary Fanguy of Houma; one brother, Francis Fanguy; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Feliciene Fanguy and Leah Duplantis Fanguy; one son, Charles J. Fanguy; two brothers, Paul and Camille Fanguy; and three sisters, Lucy Giroir, Louise Cancienne and Justine Duplantis.
He was a self-employed car salesman and U.S. Army veteran.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
