Elizabeth "Betty" Moore Aitkens, 86, a native of North Carolina and a longtime resident of Houma until her recent move to Alexandria, died on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Houma. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
She is survived by five children, Kathy and husband Don White of Alexandria, Barbara and husband, David McGee of Vacaville, Calif., Sue and husband, Randy Rydberg of Bourg, Larry Aitkens and wife Mary of Weston, Fla., and Tim Aitkens of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren, Paul White of Fayetteville, Ark., Matthew McGee of Vacaville, Calif., Martha White of New Orleans; Jason Rydberg of Houma; Kathryn McGee of Irvine, Calif., Sarah Aitkens of Raleigh, N.C., and Michael Rydberg of Monroe; and one sister, Ruth Walters of Lagrange, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. Milo Aitkens; one son, Ralph Robert Aitkens; and her parents, Francis B. Moore and Mary Long Moore.
