Murphy Jude Pellegrin, 65, a native and resident of Dulac, died at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Beverly Luke Pellegrin, of Dulac; one son, Murray Pellegrin and wife, Tracy, of Norco; one daughter, Deana Carmichael and husband, Mack, of Houma; three sisters, Bonnie Gautreaux of Houma, Charlotte Lirette of Magnolia, Miss., and Cristine Verrette of Denham Springs; three grandchildren, Cade Pellegrin, Jake Carmichael and Lindsey Carmichael; two step-grandchildren, Kaitlin Tregle and Ryan Tregle; and one step-great-granddaughter, McKayla Tregle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Pellegrin and Eula Mae Voisin Pellegrin.
He was a self-employed commercial fisherman and welder and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was a loving husband for 47 years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was proud to have so many true friends. He loved to make people laugh.
He was devoted to his religion and believed strongly in the concept of family.
His final act of kindness was volunteering to be an organ donor.
He touched so many lives while he was here and will keep on after he’s gone. He will be sadly missed by all and loved forever.
He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
