Philip Butley Fanguy, 70, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Elie Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Myra Duplantis Fanguy of Houma; two sons, Mark Fanguy and Michael G. Fanguy of Houma; one daughter, Rebecca Fanguy Dover of Houma; three brothers, Stephen W. “Bill” Fanguy, Warren Thomas “Moo’ Fanguy and Richard “Dickey” Fanguy of Chauvin; one sister, Mary F. Jewell of Henderson, Nev.; and two grandchildren, Dylan M. Fanguy and Hayden C. Fanguy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen J.B. Fanguy and Adeline Hebert Fanguy; and one brother, Gene Fanguy.
He was owner of Duplantis Truck Line.
He enjoyed life, hunting, fishing and cattle farming. He was a life member of Terrebonne Livestock and Agriculture Fair Association, a member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly No. 2214 of Chauvin, Krewe of Christopher and past king and Krewe of Houmas. He was president of South Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District, sponsor of 4-H Club, and a sponsor and past president of Ducks Unlimited.
He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
