Kathryn "Kathy" King Gautreaux, 65, a native and resident of Houma, died at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007.
Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home, and 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, L.G. Gautreaux of Houma; two sons, Lonnie Gautreaux of Baton Rouge and Tim Gautreaux of Houma; and two daughters, Kathryn Ourso and husband, Chip Ourso of Houma, and Rebecca Cenac and husband, Matthew Cenac of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother, Kenneth King of Houma; one sister, Alice "Fe" Margaret Haydel of Houma; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Ourso.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoffman King and Alice Guidry King; one brother, Hoffman King Jr.; and one sister, Marlene Wimbish.
She was a retired legal secretary for Henderson, Hanneman and Morris.
She was a volunteer at St. Gregory Catholic Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was joyful, compassionate and caring, a true gift from God to all who knew her. She had a true zest for life, never letting her disease keep her from lunch with the ladies, card playing and cheering on Jacob and Sarah in their sporting events. She was an inspiration not only at the end of it, but throughout it.
She will be truly missed by all her friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Vandebilt Catholic High School Endowment Fund or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
