James Paul Parfait Sr., 65, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Pierre Parfait of Houma; one son, James Parfait Jr. of Houma; two daughters, Angelina Lapeyrouse and husband, Craig Lapeyrouse, of Houma, and Vickie Pierre Hotard and husband, Emile Hotard Jr., of Dulac; one daughter-in-law, Carleen Parfait of Chauvin; and seven grandchildren, Zachary James Parfait, Brittany Parfait, Cassy Parfait, Tiffany Lapeyrouse, Christy Lapeyrouse, Whitney Hotard and Courtney Hotard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Parfait and Jenny Allridge Parfait; four brothers, A.J., Olden, Murphy and Nickie Parfait; and two sisters, Annette Solet and Emelda Verdin.
He was a retired offshore boat captain and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
