Alton Wilfred LeCompte

Alton Wilfred LeCompte, 92, a native of St. Charles Parish and lifelong resident of Bourg, died in Minden after a lengthy illness at 7 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church Community Center and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Gladys Boquet LeCompte; four daughters, Gay Ramia and husband, Bill, Susie Johnson and husband, John, Lana Martin and husband, Walter, and Paulette Malamud and husband, Ken; one son, Tim LeCompte; 10 grandchildren, Billy Ramia, Linda Berry, Amy Prenger, Eric Johnson, Kelli Person, Troy Martin, Kurt Theriot, Ryan Malamud, Kristin Fitt and Michael LeCompte; and 15 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Anna Ramia, Jonas, Brian, Kayla and Bryce Berry, Jeremy Prenger, Hannah Johnson, Eric and Melanie Neal, Connor, Jacob and Shaohannah Martin and Serenity and Kya Fitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcide and Mary Cantrelle LeCompte; two brothers, Norman and Nolan LeCompte; two sisters, Stella Domangue and Louella Aucoin; and one granddaughter, Melanie Ramia. He served in the Louisiana National Guard and worked in the oilfield until he retired. He was a charter member of the Bourg Lions Club. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was dedicated to his family and his community and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to TARC or the Houma/Terrebonne Council on Aging.
