Iris Savoie Brien, 86, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Bayou Blue, died at 4:33 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at St. Louis Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Brien, Phyllis Eschete and husband, John, Mary Weatherhead and husband, Gary, and Annette Brien; two brothers, Richard Savoie and Carrol Paul Savoie; four sisters, Norma Savoie Falgout, Claire Savoie Marcel, Erna Savoie LeBauve and Ellen Savoie Rogers; and four grandchildren, Aimee’ Elizabeth and John Allen Eschete II, Trevor Andrew and Caitlin Elizabeth Weatherhead.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ivy John Brien Jr.; her parents, Edward and Lucille Babin Savoie; two brothers, Murray Savoie and Phillip Savoie; and one sister, Ruby Savoie Daigle.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Ladies Altar Society and a catechism teacher for 10 years. She was an active volunteer of the Bayou Blue Food and Fun Festival from its inception, a Girl Scout leader and a loving mother and a warm humble servant of Christ.
She was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
