Joseph "Boo" Lester Dean, 85, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Marie Scott Dean of Houma; two sons, Michael Dean and Malcolm Dean and companion, Chantelle Bouquet, of Houma; five daughters, Ethel Foret and husband, Morris, Cynthia Wadsworth and companion, Wiffred Boquet, Charlotte Accardo and husband, Kurt, Mona Dion and Cheryl Parfait and husband Calvin, of Houma; four stepsons, Julius Feet of Houma, Ronald Feet and wife, Shirley, of Grand Caillou, Ronald Theriot and Joseph "J.C." Champagne of Houma; four stepdaughters, Vivian Carlos and husband, Druis, Roxane Deroche and husband, Michael, Sheryl Theriot, all of Houma and Norma Woodall and husband, Devon, of Monroe; one sister, Azelia Billiot of Dulac; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lalie Verret Dean; one daughter, Tessie Parfait; two stepsons, Merlin Feet and Glenn Theriot; two stepdaughters, Carolyn and Flossie Champagne; one brother, Adam Dean; and two sisters, Adele Billiot and Eva Verret.
He was a retired custodian for Halliburton.
