Eva Mary Pitre Picou, 85, a native and resident of Houma, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two sons, Easton Joseph Picou Jr. of Chauvin and Alex Anthony Picou Sr. and wife, Theresa May Price Picou, of Raceland; two daughters, Karen Ann Picou Prejean and husband, David Prejean, of New Blaine, Alaska, and Janet Marie Picou Babin and husband, Vernon "Jim" Babin, of Houma; one sister, Doris Marie Pitre Rhodes of Houma; nine grandchildren, Julie P. Smith, Jerry Prejean, Stacey Bascle, Gregory Babin, Amanda B. Williams, Alex Picou Jr., Marcie P. Keller, Ashley P. Le and Heather P. Detillier; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Easton Joseph Picou Sr.; her parents, Elie Joseph Pitre and Lena Marie Bergeron Pitre; two brothers, Elsoyd Joseph Pitre and Flandris Anthony Pitre Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Mable Matherne Pitre and Leah M. Pitre; one brother-in-law, Joseph Callise Rhodes; her paternal grandparents, Frank Pitre and Marie Mary Dupre Pitre; her maternal grandparents, Sylvere "Bloom" Bergeron and Hortense Eva Bergeron; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alidore and Melina LeCompte Picou.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
