Irene Marie Billiot Courteaux, 75, a native of Dulac and resident of Houma, died at 2:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, James Courteaux Sr., Ivy Courteaux Jr. of Houma and Ronald "Raymond" Courteaux Sr. of Chauvin; five daughters, Shirley Dupre of Cut Off, Mary Ann Breaux, Theresa Ellender of Houma, Shirlene V. Clary of New Iberia and Marlene Dupre of Bayou Blue; two brothers, Clifford Billiot of Montegut and Antoine Billiot of Lafayette; one sister, Lorena Billiot of Houma; 50 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Courteaux; her parents, Henry Ozema Billiot and Mandy Irene Foret Billiot; one daughter, Jeanette Courteaux; and three brothers, Henry Jr., Albert and Joseph Billiot.
She was a homemaker, a member of Houma Tribe and United Pentecostal Church.
