Gertrude Elizabeth Marcel Cantrelle, 78, a native and resident of Houma, died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Andrew J. Cantrelle, of Houma; one son, Leland Cantrelle of Houma; three daughters, Darline Cantrelle Dupre and husband, Donald, Vickie Cantrelle Bollinger and husband, Mark, and Trudy Cantrelle Giroir and husband, Bryan, of Houma; one brother, Melvin Marcel of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mary Detillier, Agnes Daigle and Tillie Tierce of Houma; 11 grandchildren, Johnny Dupre, Vicky Courville, Cynthia Moran, Paul Foret Jr., Candida Merchant, Brandy Arcement, Christina Blanchard, Holly Quick, Andy Bollinger, Amber Foret and Dane Giroir; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Marcel and Alfreida Pontiff Marcel; four brothers, Francis, Horace, Forest and Erin Marcel; and two sisters, Mae Bergeron and Wilma Voclain.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Gregory of Barbarigo Catholic Church.
