Clark Joseph Porche, 69, a native of Houma and resident of Bayou Blue, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Terrebonne General Medical Center from complications of an accident that occurred on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Bayou Blue. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Daigle Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley McKaughan Porche of Bayou Blue; one son, Timothy Porche of Bayou Blue; two daughters, Becky Sutton and husband, Jeff, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ginger Rouse and husband, Clay, of Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, Larry Porche and Curtis "Kip" Porche of Houma; one sister, Joy Poole of Houma; and two grandchildren, Brittney and C.J. Rouse of Mobile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Elmira Darcey Porche.
He graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1957. He served in the National Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1962. He retired from Texaco after a very successful career that expanded more than 36 years. He will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, farmer, fisherman and a friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Bayou Blue.
