Vivian Bevill "Honey" Neugent, 86, a native of Naborton and resident of Houma, died at 7:25 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2007.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to funeral time Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Houma. Religious services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, George "Bubba" Robert Neugent and wife, Suzie Neugent, of Marthon, Fla.; one daughter, Vivian Kathy Burson and husband, Don Burson, of Houma; one sister, Mary Katherine Myres of Mooringsport; seven grandchildren, Ahmy K. Powell of Tampa, Fla., David N. Davis, Doug Davis of Houma, Mike Neugent of Mississippi, Darrin Burson, Dwayne Burson of Houma and Donna Burson of San Marcos, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren, Kayla Davis, Kaylan Davis of Houma, Ashley Neugent, Brandon Neugent of Slidell, Taylor Neugent of Mississippi, Brittney Sobert of Houma and Meagan Sobert of Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Neugent; her parents, Robert Bruce Bevill and Francis Clementie Lowery Bevill; one grandson, George Davis; five brothers, Bruce, Clyde W., Robert, Bill and Doug Bevill; and one sister, Verna Bevill.
She is a retired sales person for J.C. Penney’s. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. In her youthful years camping was a favorite pastime. Plants and flowers brought enjoyment as well as a garden of vegetables. She and her husband lived in the same neighborhood for more than 40 years and enjoyed their friendships over the years. Her church family, First Baptist, was a very big part of her life. She worked in preschool area for many years and wrote a newspaper for the choir. Her last job was with first grade.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma.
