Edward Joseph Dupre, 90, a native and resident of Montegut, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Montegut Fire Station. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Bisland Cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Herbert Dupre and wife, Cathy, of Foley, Ala., Wilbert Dupre and wife, Merrile, Ivy Dupre and wife, Geraldine, of Bourg and David Dupre and wife, Elaine, of Chauvin; one daughter, Wilma St. Amant of Houma; one brother, Alley Dupre of Bourg; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie LeBouef Dupre; his parents, Joseph Dupre and Carrie Usie Dupre; one son-in-law, Noe’ St. Amant; one brother, Allen Dupre; and three sisters, Mae LeBouef, Leolia Martin and Lela Leonard.
He was a retired tug-boat captain with Texaco, Exxon and Crochet Towing.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
