James "Woody" Woodrow English, 51, a native and resident of Houma, died at 1 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Brandon J. English and Garrett E. English of Raceland; two brothers, John Winston English of Houma and David Allen Dickinson of Houston; and three nephews, John Winston English Jr. and wife, Julie Walsh English, of Raceland, Brent Charles English and wife, Mary Louviere English, of Houma and Joshua Dickinson of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William English Jr. and Leona Duplantis English; one infant sister, Mary Rose C. English; his paternal grandparents, John W. English Sr. and Rose C. English; and his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Clotelle Duplantis.
He was an inspector with Gulf South Engineers. He was a charter and lifetime member of The Sons of the American Legion Lennord Hotard Post No. 31, a past member of the Jaycees and a volunteer with the New Orleans Council Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of St. Gregory Choir and the Louisiana Praline Festival.
He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
