Anna May Fields Michel, 92, a native of Montegut and resident of Houma, died at 8:08 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by one son, Dennis T. Michel of Houma; five daughters, Margaret Michel Rivoire of Monroe, Mary Michel Rivoire of Seattle, Carolyn Michel Oubre of New Iberia, Elizabeth Michel Scurto and husband, Michael J. Scurto, of Houma, and Martha Michel Walker and husband, Chris J. Walker, of Raceland; one daughter-in-law, Carol K. Michel of Avondale; three brothers, Aubrey Fields of Baton Rouge, Eugene Fields and wife, Rose, of Morgan City, and Roy Fields and wife, Linda, of Cypress, Texas; one sister-in-law, Loraine C. Fields of Morgan City; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Gustave Michel; her parents, Dennis Joseph Fields and Margaret LeBoeuf Fields; two sons, Abel Gustave Michel Jr. and Joseph Michael Michel; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Gilbert, Michael, Tilden and Wilbur Fields; and one sister, Wilma Fields.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmommie.
