Robert Abdon Chauvin

Robert Abdon Chauvin, 71, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 2007. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1. He is survived by three sons, Robert A. Chauvin Jr., Keith Chauvin and Kenneth Paul Chauvin; one daughter, Regina Marie Linn; one brother, Phillip Chauvin Jr.; two sisters, Phoebe Morrison and Dot Underwood; and nine grandchildren, Michele Joyce Manor, Sean Stuart Chauvin, Brent Micheal Chauvin, Krista Lynn Chauvin, Jennifer Denise Pitre, Cindy Lynn Pitre, Anna Mae Linn, Joshua Paul Chauvin and Mary Katherine Chauvin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Rita Naquin Chauvin; and his parents, Phillip Chauvin Sr. and Hattie Arcement Chauvin. He was a retired firefighter of 20 years with the Houma Fire Department and a U.S. Navy veteran.
