Dorothy "Dot" Jean Barrett Glover, 70, a native of Mitchell and resident of Houma, died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Barry Whitten, John Whitten Sr. and wife, Lisa, and Thomas Glover Jr.; two daughters, Ann Whitten and Teresa Domangue and husband, Clint; two sisters, Fay B. Waguespack and Mildred B. Craig; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Glover Sr.; her parents, Worth Lynwood Barrett and Thelma Morris Barrett; and one sister, Helen B. Collier.
She was a broker since 1964 and co-owner of Four Star Real Estate. She was an active bowler and a past member of the Krewe of Aphrodites, a member of the Bayou of Realtors, the LA Real Estate Association and National Association of Realtors.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always giving of herself to her family and friends. She enjoyed sports of all types, especially watching her grandchildren’s games. Her profession was a passion for her. She always enjoyed the company of clients and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew her, and the many lives she touched.
