Edward "Sonny" Henry Calongne, 72, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from noon to funeral time Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home in New Orleans. Religious service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Domangue Calongne of Houma; two daughters, Leslie Calongne Carrigan of Abita Springs and Candace Calongne Cuccia of Houma; one stepdaughter, Jenny C. Seale of Houston; one brother, Terry Calongne of New Orleans; one sister, Carolyn Iennusa of Metairie; four grandchildren, Kelly Carrigan Jr., Jermey Prosperie, Katherine Cuccia and Andrea Cuccia; three great-grandchildren; one niece, Leah Marie Lovell; and two great-nephews, Mason and Logan Chiasson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward John Calongne and Leah Iris Lambert Calongne.
He was a retired safety-equipment manager with Baroid and Tetra Resources and was a U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.
