Irene Lajaunie Breaux, 89, a native of Assumption Parish and resident of Houma, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret B. Cunningham and Judy B. Babin of Houma; one brother, Philip Lajaunie of Bayou L’Ourse; three sisters, Eula Mae L. Cheramie of Lockport, Lucinda L. Loupe and Olive L. Portier of Bayou L’Ourse; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Alfred Breaux; her parents, Philip Lajaunie and Zoemie Lee Lajaunie; one son, Curtis Joseph Breaux; three brothers, Lloyd, Norris and Roy Lajaunie; and one sister, Elma L. Grow.
She was a retired maintenance person with Terrebonne Memorial Park and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
