Winnie Lapeyrouse Adams, 87, a native and resident of Chauvin, LA slipped away quietly to join her beloved husband in God’s paradise on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and then will resume Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 9:00am to funeral time at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her two sons, Spencer Adams and wife Eva, Hayes Adams, Jr., and wife Patti; Three daughters, Etha LeCompte and husband Jesse, Lolita Henry and Winnie Thibodeaux; Thirteen Grandchildren, Jesse LeCompte, Jr., and wife Alena, Troy LeCompte, Sr., and wife Robin, Percy LeCompte, Sr., Jerrimie Thibodeaux, Sr. and companion, Bernice Dardar, Lolita Mayon, Sean and wife Sarah, Ryan Adams and wife Sarah, Dawn Adams, Amy Martin, Debbie Adams and companion Britt Bates, David Martin and wife Bunny, Cassie Parfait and husband Alex, Amy Martin and Trevor Adams; Seven Step-Grandchildren, Angel Bonvillain and husband Ryan, Derrick Pellegrin and wife Tiffani, Jarred Charpentier and wife Sandra, Tara Robichaux and husband Rick, Chris Collins, Josh Foret, Brandy Collins, Brandy Henry; Nineteen Great Grandchildren, Ashley Rodrigue and husband Josh, Jetti LeCompte and wife Lacey, Troy LeCompte, Jr., Percy LeCompte, Jr., Heidi LeCompte and companion Jason, Jace LeCompte Shelby LeCompte, Alysa Sanchez, Austin Martin, Howard Brunet, Jr., Kirsten Thibodeaux, Camron Mayon, Hero Theriot, Jay Theriot, Jerrimie Thibodeaux, Jr.,Caleb Mayon, Kami Bates, Grace Adams, Shawn Thibodeaux. Four Step Grandchildren, Tate Dupre, Derreck Pellegrin, Jr., Kamyrn Fitch, Bryn Pellegrin; Two Step Great Grandchildren, Mace Charpentier and Ren Charpentier. Two Great Great Grandchildren, Jozlynn Rodrigue, and Joseph O'Herte. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Hayes Adams, Sr. Mother, Fannie S. Lapeyrouse, Sister, Etta Lapeyrouse Father: Narcisse Lapeyrouse Brothers, Iry Lapeyrouse, Lee Lapeyrouse and Thomas Lapeyrouse And her beloved infant son, Joseph Adams. She will be missed by many other friends and family. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was caring and giving, loyal, hardworking and loving. She was a teacher for Terrebonne Parish Public and Private Schools for over 35 years. She was a member of the Lagniappe Fair Workers for many years, a life member and past Auxilliary President of the Aswell L. Picou FVW Unit 9608 for almost 10 years, life member of the Kenneth C. Boudreaux American Legion Unit 3801 and past president for 20 years, member of the Alter Society, Catholic Daughters, Ward 7 Citizens Club, Lector/Commentator and minister of Bread and Cup at St. Joseph Church. Past member of the Recreation Board, commision of elections, devoted fund raiser for the Cerebral Palsy Telethon for a number of years, past Red Cross worker, loyal bingo worker for both the VFW and American Legion, and Religion Teacher. She loved bingo and pokeno, playing cards with her daughters, watching baseball and football, flowers, butterflies, family and friends. Her laugh, advise, voice, touch, presence and love will be painfully missed.
