Allen Peter Martin, 82, a native of New Iberia and resident of Houma, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Bergeron Martin of Houma; two sons, Mark Martin and wife, Margo, of Pearland, Texas, and Gregory Martin and wife, Michele, of Bourg; one daughter, Joni M. Biondini and husband, Roberto, of Covington; one brother, Klebert D. Martin of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, Olga LeBoeuf of Texas; one half-sister, Bertha Squires of Calhoun, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Klebert F. Martin and Theresa Singer Martin; one brother, Samuel R. Martin; four half-brothers, Glaise J. Martin, Hilias W. Martin, Julius L. Martin and Houston E. Martin; and one half-sister, Yvonne Martin.
He was a retired compressor mechanic with Chevron Oil Co. and a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
