Gerald John Lovell, 74, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gray, died at 1 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in New Hope Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Giroir Lovell of Gray; two sons, Rickey Lovell Sr. and wife, Denise, of Thibodaux and Jody Lovell and fiancée, Cindy, of Gray; two daughters, Sue L. Berardi and husband, Paul, of Schriever and Sherry Lovell of Gray; one brother, Allie Lovell Jr. of Monroe; three sisters, Sylvia L. Boudreaux of Dularge, Rosalee L. Champagne of Houma and Delores L. Lirette of Marrero; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allie Lovell Sr. and Rosanell Trosclair Lovell; one grandson, Robert John Lovell; one brother, Edmond "T-Boy" Lovell; and three sisters, Joyce L. Neely, Barbara L. Harvey and Beverly L. Kennedy.
He was a retired head gauger with Murphy Oil (formerly ODECO) for 35 years, was an Operation Blessing Outreach volunteer and Red Cross volunteer.
