Irving "Blackie" Joseph Freeman, 82, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah "Be Be" Bush Freeman of Houma; one son, Michael Freeman of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Charlotte Freeman and Bridget St. Martin of Houma; one brother, Larry Freeman of Houma; three sisters, Mary Rose Freeman, Theresa DuBois and Antoinette Morgan of Houma; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson Freeman and Louise Champagne Freeman; one grandson, Darrell Anderson; and one brother, L.J. Freeman.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
