Magnus “Butch” Joseph Eschete Jr.

Magnus “Butch” Joseph Eschete Jr., 64, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died at 6:58 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007. Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Hilda Foret Eschete of Houma; one son, Kevin Eschete and wife, Harmonie, of Houma; four daughters, Linda McNeil and husband, Greg, of Chauvin, Michelle Terrebonne and husband, John, of Houma, Doris Cass and husband, Ben, of Ramona, Calif., and Melissa Cordova and husband, Hector, of Houma; three brothers, Charles Eschete and wife, Catherine, of Milwaukee, Gary Eschete and wife, Pat, of Silverdale, Wash., and John Eschete of Houma; 15 grandchildren, Sarah Close, Rebecca Trosclair, Timothy Liming II, Zack and Jesse Bergeron, David, Amanda and Cameron Terrebonne, Tyler and Trevor Cass, Madison and Logan Eschete, Caleb and Christopher Cordova and Jade Eschete; five great-grandchildren, Heavenly Owens, Aiden and Gavin Close, and Kylie and Nathaniel Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Magnus J. Eschete Sr.; and one brother, Calvin Eschete. He was employed by Gulf Stream Service with more than 22 years of dedicated service. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was Catholic.
