Monsignor Emile J. Fossier

Monsignor Emile J. Fossier, a resident of Houma, died on June 23, 2007. Msgr. Fossier was born on February 7, 1917 to the late Frederic J. Fossier and Anaise Hymel Fossier. He was ordained a Catholic Priest on December 18, 1945 and has faithfully served the Catholic Church for nearly sixty-two years. He is the brother of the late Viola F. Ferro, Frederic J. Fossier, Jr., Reverend Father Ignatius (Camille) Fossier, OSB, Hubert J. Fossier, Annabel F. Diebold, Claire F. O'Flynn and Conrad J. Fossier. Msgr. Fossier is survived by two sisters, Eunice F. Bennett and Celeste F. Martin and a host of grand and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 26th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Wednesday, June 27th at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral from 9:00 AM until Mass time at 11:00 AM. Msgr. Fossier will be interned at Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
